Texas Tech University Closes Campus on Tuesday, October 27th
Update #2: Texas Tech University Tuesday morning issued a winter weather cancellation notice which includes the entire campus. However, the school said classes would be "canceled or delivered online at the instructor's discretion." Texas Tech said it expects campus to reopen on Wednesday.
Update #1: The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center announced early Tuesday morning that they would be closed due to the winter weather.
Monday's winter weather in Lubbock caused over 80 traffic accidents, and it's now delaying the start of classes for Tuesday.
Late Monday afternoon (October 26th), Texas Tech University announced it was delaying the start of Tuesday classes to 10 a.m. The delayed start also affects on-campus buses and when Texas Tech employees should report for work.

The Texas Tech campus in Lubbock has delayed the start of classes until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Classes scheduled to start before that time may be canceled or delivered online at the instructor’s discretion.
TTU and System employees should report at 9:30 a.m. or as directed by their supervisor.
Buses will begin running on a normal schedule approximately 1 hour prior to campus opening.
The 10 a.m. start time for classes on Tuesday also applies to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. This also includes the Texas Tech Physicians:
Lubbock campus operations, classes and Texas Tech Physicians clinics will be delayed until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27th due to winter weather. This applies to all faculty, staff, students and clinics on the Lubbock campus. Visit www.ttuhsc.edu/emergency for updates.
The icy conditions in Lubbock are expected to continue all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Temperatures in Lubbock are expected to break through the freezing mark on Wednesday afternoon.
