Texas Tech offensive lineman Jack Anderson has announced that he is forgoing his remaining eligibility to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Anderson did so via his Twitter account:

The whole statement reads:

I have been blessed to spend the past four years in Lubbock surrounded by the best fans in the country, coaches who are family, and teammates who have become lifelong friends. Texas Tech is my home, and the support from Red Raider nation has been unbelievable. For that, I am forever grateful. It has been my lifelong dream to play football at the highest level. After many conversations with my family, I have decided to forego my remaining eligibility and declare for the 2021 NFL draft. I will always bleed Red and Black. Guns up!

Anderson started every game for Texas Tech in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, he was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team. He started the first three games of the 2019 season before being knocked out for the season with a shoulder injury. He returned for a final season in 2020, but has now obviously moved on to bigger and better things.

Anderson hails from Frisco, Texas, and committed to Texas Tech over Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia, nearly every Big 12 team and almost 45 total scholarship offers from across the country. Anderson is the second-highest-rated recruit to ever sign with Texas Tech during the recruiting rating era.

Anderson started from day one on campus and could have gone to the draft last year, but wanted to give more to the program. He's a true Red Raider and should be praised universally as he moves on to the next level.
