It's graduation time again, and Texas students are deciding where to go to college. The good news is that Texas ranked 7th overall for the "Best Places To Be A Student in 2022." Texas scores well because we have 12 of the top Colleges in America.

As graduates decide where to go, one should take into consideration, "location, location, location" as it's said in business. Plus the cost of college, dorms, housing availability, and the number of college students in that area.

As graduates try to pin their hopes and dreams on going to a certain college to further their education. With so many colleges to choose from, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. The graph below should help answer some questions you might have.

College is so much more than getting a degree, it’s about the experience and excitement of moving out and living independently, and as I've recently learned young people want to be "adulting" and on their own. Additionally, there's this anticipation of a new area to explore, and of course the making of new lifelong friends to be made.

Texas places seventh in the best states to be a student in 2022. It's also home to the top 12 colleges and most importantly "famous institutions" like the University of Texas at Austin, Rice University, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Add to that, the below-average costs for tuition, rent, and board.

Texas is also a very young state so if you're in the market to make new friends, the Lone Star State is it, as it ranks high for the percentage of 19-25-year-olds residing in Texas. Where Texas fails miserably is in friendliness for mental health or LGBT. All things should be considered prior when making that final decision.

These were some of the "numbers" that placed Texas in the #7 spot. The average cost for tuition is $8,598. the percentage of the population that is 19-25 years old was 9.6% and finally, the number of top colleges in the state was a total of 12.
