28-year-old Tommie Woodward was killed last Friday when he ignored a warning sign and jumped into the gator-infested marina.

Now Fox San Antonio is reporting that a 400-pound, 11-foot alligator that was shot without a permit has been identified as the animal that killed the late-night swimmer at the Southeast Texas marina.

The report says the alligator was shot Monday afternoon near Adams Bayou in Orange, Texas.  According to Orange County officials, the remains found inside the carcass were identified as those of Tommie Woodward.

The official autopsy determined Woodward officially died by drowning, but his left arm was bitten off just below the elbow.
