The statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.27 a gallon, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch Report.

That price is two cents less than last week and is now 30 cents less than the national average of $2.57.

With an average price of $2.23 Lubbock is trending four cents less than the state average. Some local gas stations even have unleaded gas as low as $2.09 per gallon.

As gas prices continue to drop across the board, AAA Texas says it’s possible some areas could see, "slight increases at the pump in the coming days due to fluctuation in gasoline stocks. . . Exports to areas outside of the U.S. are causing supplies to be at their lowest point for this time of year since 2015."
