The Texas Department of Public Safety seized nearly 200 pounds of cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop near Rosenberg.

On Friday, October 19 a trooper stopped a vehicle travelling on Interstate 69 near Rosenberg. During the stop, a DPS canine discovered cocaine and heroin in the vehicle.

Around 165 pounds of cocaine and 33 pounds of heroin were seized. The driver, 32 year-old Alexandra Briones, and a passenger, 76 year-old Alejandrina Briones, were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, then booked into the Fort Bend County Jail.

An investigation is ongoing.
