Gunnar Hansen played the iconic Leatherface in the 1974 classic.

USA TODAY reports he passed away from pancreatic cancer at his home in Maine over the weekend.

His agent Mike Eisenstadt confirmed his death, adding that his character "is one of the most iconic evil figures in the history of cinema."
