St. Jude Patient In Portales Shares Their Incredible Story With Lonestar
Just a couple of hours away from Lubbock in Portales, New Mexico is a family who experienced the healing work done at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Listen as they share the story of their son Lance who has battled cancer and won. Lance is 8 years cancer free.
Lance was 8 years old when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left leg. Family, friends and research led them to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
With a referral from their physician they were able to fly to St. Jude in Memphis. "The minute we walked in the hospital I knew we were in the right place." Lance's mother Carol shared.
Lance is a success story. A special prosthesis has allowed him to grow with it in place in his leg. Lance is active in school and a great student.
Lance shares that St. Jude is "The best children's cancer research facility and hospital there is...it's not a place you want to go but it's the best place you can go." he said.
Lance is returning to St. Jude this week for additional surgery for a permanent prosthesis.
