Spec’s to Open Second Lubbock Location

The West Wind Shopping Center located off 4th Street and West Loop 289 is about to get a major new tenant.

Spec's Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods will be opening a second location in the Hub City soon. The new location is opening inside the West Wind Shopping Center, which is located at 5510 4th Street, is close to 4th and West Loop 289. The same shopping center is home to Beef O'Brady's, Wing Stop, Whataburger, Dollar Tree and other businesses.

There wasn't a date listed on the doors for when Spec's will open the new location, but it appears as though it won't be too long before it opens. While a sign on the door says "Coming Soon," the signs for Spec's went up this week, and the shelves and refrigerators for beer are installed.

According to the signs located on the building, the new Spec's will be a lot like the location off Slide Road. They'll carry wine, beer, liquor, and cigars as well. The first location of Spec's opened years ago at 6816 Slide Road in the same shopping center as Chick-fil-A and Hobby Lobby.

While the new location looks to be smaller than the first Lubbock location for Spec's, it will be the largest liquor store north of 50th Street.

Spec's is known to carry a wide range of wine and beer in their stores and is a Texas-based liquor store. Spec's also has different events during the year where they have representatives giving samples of new and seasonal drinks.
