Sunday afternoon's severe weather across the South Plains formed two tornadoes in Lynn County. No injuries were reported, but over 1,000 Xcel Energy customers lost power in Lynn, Lubbock and Garza counties at the height of the storm.  As of 9:30p on Sunday night, the Xcel Energy outages were down to 421 customers in Lynn and Garza counties.

At one point on Sunday afternoon US 380 became impassable between the towns of Tahoka and Post due to flooding and downed power lines.

Flooding also occurred in other parts of Lynn County, forcing the temporary closure of parts of US 87.

At various times Sunday afternoon, KAMC News storm spotter, Derrick Ginter had to contend with live power lines falling on top of his truck and driving onto flooded Farm to Market roads in southeast Lynn County.

The next opportunity for severe weather across the South Plains could be on Tuesday.
