Red Raider Basketball Falls to Colorado [AUDIO]
The Texas Tech Red Raider basketball team fell last night 71-68 to Colorado at the United Spirit Arena. The Red Raiders suffered their 5th loss in the last six games with the heart breaker.
The Red Raiders did get solid performances from their senior leader ship as John Roberson and Mike Singletary combine for more than half of Tech’s points. Roberson finished the game with a team high 18 points and 7 assists while Singletary chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds.
The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 12-16 on the season and 4-9 in Big 12 play while Colorado improved to 17-11 on the season and 6-7 in Big 12 play. The loss is the 7th at home this season for the Red Raiders. Tech also has only one win in the month of February.
Last night’s game was also the second to last home game for Tech this season. The Red Raiders will play their final home game on March 2nd when they play host to Oklahoma. That game will also be senior day for the Red Raiders will 7 seniors being honored before the game.
Many people, players included, think a contributing factor to the loss last night was the lack of attendance for the conference match up. Listen to two clips below from Red Raiders John Roberson and Mike Singletary talking about the lack of fan support in the game.
