In April 2022, Lubbock got a new dessert place called Whip'd Pies. A lot of people loved it but a lot of people had some criticisms too.

Whip'd Pies is a local individual pie delivery company. They serve up creamy whipped pies that can be topped with layers of sweet goodness, including syrups, cookie crumbs, candy and more. Their pies are a little and come in two sizes. They will fit in the palm of your hand, so it's perfect for any kind of occasion.

Some people complained about a couple of things to their desserts so the company has stepped up to change the recipes.

I talked to the new head chef and general manager, Cannon Roberts, you may know him because he was the baker at Good Brews and Gatsbys. He said he has joined the company to redo all the recipes and everything is homemade from scratch.

The new pies are also cheaper, with non-breakable crust and new filling as well.

"We replaced the whipped cream with the meringue. That is what makes it more like the traditional Frenchman mousse. It gives it that light airy texture. It is just a very unique dessert experience," said Roberts.

The new pie crust will be flakier, stronger, and has a crispiness to it.

The old recipes wouldn't hold up if you wanted to hold it and eat it but now you can. They will also be adding a gluten-free and vegan option coming soon. They are still trying to make the recipe perfect but it should be ready by the end of the week.

They will have 12 of the same flavors every single day but they will also do specialty ones randomly. You have to show up in person or follow them on social media to find out what those will be each week.

Just a plain pie is five dollars which is a dollar cheaper. You can add toppings if you want it will just add to the price.
