Lubbock police officers are asking for the public's help in locating one of three suspects believed to be responsible for several vehicle burglaries.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 11th, officers received calls about vehicle burglaries. When officers arrived at the Hawthorne Suites, located at 4923 Marsha Sharp, they noted three suspects fleeing the parking lot on foot.

After a brief foot chase, one of the suspects, 18-year-old John Castillo, was apprehended. The other two, identified as 19-year-old Jamie Ray Cortez and 20-year-old Isaiah Anthony Lara, were unable to be apprehended.

Police say a suspect vehicle was found with large amounts of stolen property, including multiple firearms. Castillo has been charged with burglary of a vehicle, theft, evading arrest, engaging in organized crime and two misdemeanor warrants.

It's said that Lara and Cortez returned to the scene later with another man, 20-year-old Frances Garza. Officers recognized Lara and Cortez as the suspects that fled the scene initially and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle they were in. Lara and Cortez fled on foot again.

Cortez was apprehended after a chase, but Lara was not located.

Garza was charged with burglary of a vehicle, theft, engaging in organized crime and a misdemeanor warrant. Cortez was charged with burglary of a vehicle, theft, evading arrest, escape and engaging in organized crime.

Anyone with information on Lara's whereabouts are asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
