We Think We Found Lubbock’s Tastiest Pita Place [Video]
Pita Pit is known as a "fresh and healthy alternative to typical fast food," serving up tasty dishes quickly and affordably.
The Lubbock location, which has been open for nearly five years now at 5707 4th St., gives customers the opportunity to create their own pita sandwich and stuff that wonderful, soft bread with a great variety of lean meats, cheeses, flavorful sauces and crisp vegetables.
Pita Pit sandwiches, especially customer faves like the Souvlaki Pita or classic Gyro, will fill you up and not weigh you down. These dishes pack more energy and protein from meat-free options like black beans and hummus.
But according to Pita Pit owner Max Bhakta, the best part is that these are meals that won't put you to sleep.
"I like to tell people that once you have [a pita sandwich], you don't feel that drowsiness, especially after lunch," says Bhakta. "And so when you gotta go back to work, you're not gonna get that feeling like, 'oh, I feel kinda sleepy.'"
