A Lubbock man was indicted on Tuesday, May 10th for aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest.

KAMC News reports the indictment comes from an incident that happened back on March 25th, 2022.

It's said that a Lubbock police officer was responding to a domestic dispute and approached 26-year-old Owen Wilson, who was in his vehicle. The officer asked Wilson to exit the vehicle, but Wilson allegedly refused.

The officer then tried to remove Wilson from the vehicle forcefully, but it's said that Wilson put his vehicle in reverse and immediately accelerated. The police report said that Wilson did so "with no regard for [the officer's] safety or the safety of others."

The officer grabbed onto the vehicle to try to avoid being hit. It's said that the officer was almost pinned between the vehicle and another vehicle. The officer then fell onto the other vehicle and Wilson fled the scene.

Wilson was arrested at a later time and arrested. He's not currently listed in the jail roster for the Lubbock County Detention Center.
