Make Contact with Out of This World Fun at Roswell UFO Festival
Little green men will be invading Roswell, New Mexico again over the July 4 weekend.
UFO enthusiasts, believers of the existence of extraterrestrial beings, and those who just like having a good time will descend on "The UFO Capital of the World" beginning July 1 for the UFO Festival.
All Things Alien Related
For those who have never been, the 3-day party celebrates all things alien-related and features numerous events including concerts, planetarium laser shows, retro sci-fi movies, a drone show, and guest speakers at the Roswell UFO Museum.
The annual space alien jubilee commemorates the summer of 1947 when a rancher discovered debris from an unidentified flying object on a ranch miles outside of Roswell.
The Roswell Incident
This year’s world-famous festival will salute the 75th anniversary of the legendary crash, now known as The Roswell Incident.
Depending on whose account you believe, it was either a “flying saucer” that crash landed or a weather balloon, and the bodies allegedly recovered were either extraterrestrial in nature or crash test dummies.
People and Pets in Far Out Costumes
Scrolling through the festival Facebook and website reveals there is so much to do at the UFO Festival.
There's the Alien Crawl, which is a party bus that stops at a few of Roswell’s finest restaurants, where you can sample alien-themed beverages and appetizers. A parade with alien-themed floats and storm-troopers from a galaxy far, far away, and the crowd favorite pet costume contest to name just a few.
Earthlings looking to get out of town over the long July 4th weekend should consider a road trip to Roswell for some out-of-this-world fun.
