One person was killed Wednesday night (June 1) in a fatal hit-and-run accident in the Hub City.

A little after 10 p.m., Lubbock police were called to the 4100 block of Avenue Q where a northbound Ford Expedition struck a pedestrian and fled the scene without rendering aid.

The identity of the victim was released this morning. Ramon Ledesma, Jr. (55) was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The Accident Investigation Team was called out, and during their investigation the suspect, 56-year-old Ricardo Vasquez, returned to the scene.

Vasquez was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Jail where he was charged with Failing to Stop and Render Aid.
