There's nothing quite like a full moon in October, and we should have a big beautiful one this weekend.

October's full moon seems like it's having an identity crisis, but it's okay. Usually, the September full moon is the Harvest Moon, but the designation goes to the moon closest to the equinox. This time, it's October's moon, so winner-winner, chicken dinner.

For those keeping score, the October Moon is usually the "Hunter's Moon."

The moon will actually be at its fullest on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 2:41 p.m. in Texas, which presents us with a problem: the sun is still out at that time. Still, it should be a pretty big and bright one for most of the weekend long.
