What Happened to the Northwest Lubbock Applebee’s?
This sudden closing took us by surprise. Unfortunately, without notice, the Northwest Lubbock Applebee's at 4th and Milwaukee closed last Friday night (Oct. 14). A sign in the window Saturday morning said the location was closed.
The Applebee's on South Loop 289 remains open and Lonestar 99.5 spoke with the Applebee's General Manager Tina Garza.
Garza said the closing of the Northwest location took them all by surprise and she assumes it is part of the decision made In August, by Applebee’s parent company, DineEquity, when the closure of up to 160 locations nationwide was announced, according to Everything Lubbock.
"We have some of the employees," Garza said, adding that they were able to get them started to work Sunday.
It's good to see that some of the employees were able to make the transition.
