This new exhibit opened February 1st at Silent Wings Museum and pays tribute to the heroes from West Texas that were tragically lost on Space Shuttle Columbia, in 2003.

The exhibit is titled Columbia: Fifteen Years After according to the press release

Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated as it returned to earth on February 1 of 2003. All 7 of the crew were lost. The exhibit honors the heroic crew with focus on the two from here in West Texas, the shuttle commander Co. Rick Husband and pilot Willie McCool.

When you visit the exhibit you'll have an opportunity to learn more about the space shuttle program including the 80 experiments of this space shuttle mission.

This special commemorative exhibit will be on display through June 17th, in the Timeline Gallery, of Silent Wings Museum, located at 6202 N. I-27. Follow this link to the Silent Wings website for hours and further information.
