New Deal's Jett Whitfield was a major reason that the Mean Green went all the way to the State Championship game this past season. The Senior quarterback/safety led his team to an undefeated regular season and led New Deal to new heights in 2018. His leadership and quality play, he had more than 60 touchdowns, led to him being named the 2A Texas Built Ford Tough Player of the Year.

In addition to being named player of the year, he also received offers to play football at both Texas Tech and Sam Houston State.

That's not a bad weekend at all.

These won't be the last offers for Whitfield either, who will bring a strong work ethic and level of leadership to any program he enters.
