The official ribbon cutting, according to the Chamber of Commerce, for West Texas ER;'s new location on Quaker and 102nd Street, is Thursday November 10th. They are already open and offer the South side of Lubbock full emergency care.

"The South side of town really has (had) nothing," .Dr John Turner, co-owner of the new West Texas ER explained, This new location "saves folks a 10-15 minute drive and long wait times.

He said, they have 'virtually no wait...The patients who have been seen have been so grateful."

He explained that they work hard to ensure a 'warmer...friendlier...personalized touch."

Addressing the need for special care for Pediatrics and children he responded, "We see children all the time," He explained that the West Texas ER's  relaxed, friendly environment  is able to take the time and attention needed to ease children's fears about coming to an ER. We can "tailor and personalize care to kids."

Turner said this new facility has the same equipment and services available at their other location at 7905 Milwaukee in Lubbock. Lab work can be done on premises for most emergency care, Turner said.

Turner said, that even though they are not able to take Medicare and Medicaid, they will take care of a patient if they come in, regardless of ability to pay and they will work with patients to manage billing and charges. He said they want to work with folks and be there for the patients in need.

More information is available on their westtexaser website.
