
Police Release Name of Man Hit & Killed by Vehicle on Marsha Sharp Freeway
A man was struck in the 1900 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway in Lubbock Saturday night (Match 10).
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the incident occurred in the west-bound lanes of the access road after 9 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found an injured male. He was brought to University Medical Center, where he later died. The victim's age and name was later released by the department: 42-year-old Joey Alafa.
No arrests have been made in the case, and the Lubbock Police Department has not called the incident a hit-and-run or issued any information about a potential suspect. According to the department, its Accident Investigations Unit is currently investigating the incident.
