Man Indicted for Child Sexual Assault After Domestic Disturbance on July 4th

A grand jury on Tuesday indicted a man for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Court documents accuse 37 year-old Saul Lozano of sexually abusing an 8 year-old girl.

KAMC News reports the incident occurred in the 500 block of Avenue D on July 4th when Lubbock Police responded for a domestic disturbance report. The police report says Lozano assaulted a woman and threatened to tie her and the children on scene up with a power cord.

Police originally arrested Lozano for assault and injury to a child, but as police asked more questions, they learned of the sexual assault allegations.

Lozano is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on more than $100,000 in bonds.
