On Friday, April 3rd, the Lubbock City Council approved Mayor Dan Pope's emergency declaration made a week prior to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19.

With the city council's approval on Friday, the Stay-At-Home order will remain in effect through April 30th.

KAMC News reports that Mayor Pope said only a few small changes were made to the emergency declaration before it was submitted to the council for ratification.

The changes were described as clarifying the wording on the Lubbock Health Department's authority to enforce occupancy restrictions at local businesses.
