Lubbock's Chimy's (2417 Broadway) and Cricket's Draft House (2412 Broadway) are closed for deep cleaning due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the Broadway area, according to their social media posts and KCBD.

Cricket's will be closed for one day, Tuesday, June 16th. In their Facebook post, Cricket's stated:

Due to increased safety precautions we will be closed Tuesday June 16th for a deep cleaning. We will be open again for regular operating hours on Wednesday, June 17th. We aim to keep your health and safety as our top priority.

Chimy's has decided to keep their place closed for deep cleaning until Thursday, June 18th. Here's what they shared on social media:

Chimys will be closed for a deep clean until Thursday due to the recent Covid cases near broadway. Apparently this is a lot to ask but, if you are feeling sick or know you’ve been to an exposure site PLEASE do not go out and put others at risk.

Lubbock's The Lantern Tavern at 3502 Slide Road has also closed their doors for cleaning. They won't reopen until Friday. Follow this link for more details about The Lantern's temporary closure.

Additionally, on Monday, June 15th, Lubbock's Twin Peaks temporarily closed their doors after the Health Department confirmed that an employee tested positive for the coronavirus. Follow this link for more about Twin Peak's temporary closure.

With 110 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Lubbock just last week, it really is time to stay vigilant. We're grateful these popular Lubbock businesses are taking every precaution to help keep us all safe.
