A Lubbock woman was arrested in Abernathy on Tuesday, May 24th for aggravated robbery.

KAMC News reports that 24-year-old Mikayla Solorzano was indicted the week before her arrest for a robbery that happened at 66th Street and Avenue S in Lubbock back in January of 2019. This case was apparently related to multiple other robberies and even a murder that also happened January of 2019.

In regards to the 2019 case, it's said that a woman was about to cross the street at an intersection when a car pulled over and a man got out. He apparently demanded everything she had, but when she said the backpack she was carrying didn't have anything of value, the man grabbed the backpack. He fired 2 shots at her feet before fleeing. Solorzano was said to be the driver of the vehicle.

Police were investigating a murder case at 37th Street and Avenue P just a few days later which concerned a stolen backpack. Police arrested Miguel Garza and Anthony Alvarez for the shooting death of Jimmy Hernandez-Rodriguez. The driver of the vehicle in the murder case was also said to be Solorzano.

Garza is the one who said Solorzano was the driver and even admitted to committing several armed robberies by driving around town on the search for victims.

Solorzano remains booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
