Lubbock Welcomes Another Brewery After Years of Anticipation
Lubbock, the always expanding city, has another brewery that opened its doors this weekend.
Auld Brewing may be new to Lubbock, but they are definitely not new to west Texas. This new downtown brewery is actually their second location. The original location is in Borger, Texas.
The husband and wife duo, Ray and Andrea Auld, decided to open this new location about three years ago. However, things didn’t go quite as planned. As they mentioned on their Instagram, they had quite a few setbacks including their own mistakes, terrible loss, and of course, the pandemic.
Now they were finally able to open the doors to their new Lubbock location last Saturday, August 28, 2021. This grand opening featured local musicians as well as Lubbock’s Grub Gauntlet food truck.
They seem to be regularly partnering with Grub Gauntlet to provide yummy food for their customers while they enjoy their craft beer. You can see when they will have the food truck on-site, as well as any other special events and promotions, through their Instagram.
I know what you’re thinking, “But what about the beer?”
Some of their featured brews include their Steckling IPA, Trifecta Double IPA, Panhandle Pale Ale, and Scorpion’s Coffee Stout. They also have some seasonal options available that look pretty good. I am definitely intrigued by their Watermelon Wheat and will need to stop by and give it a try before it's gone.
If you want to check them out, their Lubbock location is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you are closer to Borger, they are open most days from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., but you can find the exact schedule for that location on their social media.
You can read up about their specialty brews, mission, cultural values, events, and more on their website.
