Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport Is Looking for New Food
Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport recently completed a $42 million remodel on their terminal building that started work back in December 2019 and is now seeking a different kind of upgrade.
The Lubbock International Airport's current concessionaire agreement is nearing its expiration date. This means out with the old, in with the new. The airport is seeking possible options such a bar/restaurant, a coffee shop, 2-3 fast food options and a gift shop.
According to their website, it can be a national or local brand. Before any businesses can be considered, their site says "a local brand is defined as a business with an established trade name which is currently doing business in at least one (1) location in the City of Lubbock or its immediate surroundings, or in at least five (5) locations in the State of Texas. A national brand is defined as a business with an established trade name which is currently doing business in at least 25 locations in the United States."
Along with defining what exactly they're seeking, people should consider the time people have to consume food and the fact that the facility should be open 365 days a year to better accommodate travelers to and from the airport before submitting suggestions.
The survey can be filled out here, with the final question asking for write-in answers of what locals and travelers would specifically like to see. I may or may not have voted Whataburger and a China Star 2.
