Lubbock Police Department Makes Dreams Come True for Young Kids With Officer for a Day
Thursday morning, Lubbock Police Department helped make some dreams come true.
Sam Hill is an 8-year-old who was diagnosed with multiple congenital diseases. His 11-year-old sister, Abby, has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The pair were sworn in as officers by Chief Greg Stevens, then taken outside to meet some of the SWAT members while exploring one of the vehicles.
A K-9 handler was on standby to introduce his partner to the crime fighting duo. When the mention of the animal was made, the SWAT truck seemingly disappeared from their sights as they bee-lined to the K-9 cruiser.
