Lubbock Mom Asking for Help Finding Child’s Stolen Wheelchair

A Lubbock mother is asking the community for help with finding her son's stolen wheelchair.

Becky Garcia has done everything that a mother can do in order to help her 22-year-old son Tristan recover his wheelchair, which was recently stolen from right next to the back door of their home in a northwest Lubbock neighborhood.

Police have been notified and a report was filed, but it's time for everyone in the community to be on the lookout for this custom made wheelchair belonging to a young man who has been diagnosed with a rare hereditary genetic disorder called spastic paraplegia.

Mrs. Garcia says that the diagnosis is devastating, as it's progressive and incurable.

The chair is described as a custom-made Quickie made specifically to fit Tristan's measurements, with adjustable wheels for sports use. The titanium is blue, and the padding is black. The wheelchair is said to be in excellent condition and was only received two months ago by the young man.

She is pleading with desperation for help in locating the chair and is asking for it to be returned, no questions asked. A GoFundMe account has also been created to raise funds in the event that the wheelchair is not returned.
