Lubbock Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Sexual Abuse in South Texas
On Tuesday (May 8), a Lubbock man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for child sexual abuse in Cameron County.
KAMC News reports 33-year-old Lewis Vega pleaded guilty to seven counts of aggravated assault of a child and four counts of indecency with a child by contact. Court records say the victims were between the ages of 7 and 14.
One of the victims came forward in 2012 and made a statement about her experiences. Three years later, the investigation was re-opened when another victim described what Vega had done to her.
Vega was a minor at the time, but was certified and tried as an adult.
