On Tuesday, December 15th, a Lubbock man was indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child who was only 11 years old.

In June 2020, officers were called to a residence in South Lubbock after a girl made an outcry of abuse. This is according to the arrest warrant filed against the suspect on November 19th, 2020.

The girl's mother said she found what she believed to be a hickey on the girl's neck.

The girl claims that 51-year-old David Peter Meyndert (pictured above) had touched her inappropriately several times. The specific details of the incident in question have not been released to the public. Meyndert denied all claims when speaking with police. KAMC News reports the he claimed he saw the girl watching inappropriate videos on the internet.

The relationship between Meyndert and the girl remains unclear.

Police said the girl would be medically examined for signs of sexual assault, and Meyndert said he thought that examination would clear him. The results of that examination are unknown, but it's been confirmed that the examination happened. It's unknown if the results of the examination were what led to Meyndert's eventual arrest.

Meyndert was arrested back on Wednesday, December 2nd and has remained booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center ever since on a $130,000 bond.
