Lubbock Animal Shelter turned to social media on Tuesday, July 30th, to alert the community that the city's shelter took in 38 pets on Monday.

They called it "just a typical Monday workload." It's a sad fact that during the weekend, pets can often get loose or escape the care of their owners. Many of these pets end up in local shelters on Mondays.

LAS Adoption Center asks pet owners to visit the shelter to search for and reclaim a missing pet, or to adopt a new one.

The Facebook post by Lubbock Animal Shelter also reminds the reader that "If you find a lost pet, PLEASE hold on to them, post their pictures and stories on social media!! LAS should be the very last option for pets that have lost their way home!!"
