The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra welcomes piano virtuoso Adam Golka performing an incredible feat of presenting ALL FIVE of Beethoven's Piano Concerti in TWO CONSECUTIVE EVENINGS. Come be a part of the incredible 2011-2012 season with Adam Golka performing in the LSO's season premiere, First Masterwork's Concerts September 23rd and 24th 2011, at 7:30pm in the Lubbock Civic Center theater. These concerts will be doubly exciting, and not least because of the tremendous opportunity for Lubbock area audiences to experience Adam Golka’s pianistic virtuosity in performing the five exceedingly rigorously demanding pieces within two consecutive nights. In these First Masterworks Concerts, there will be “nothing but piano;” concerto after concerto will cascade into the air, with all five Piano Concerti that Ludwig van Beethoven ever composed played together for the first time ever in the South Plains.
With Piano Concerti Nos. 2, 3, & 4 on Friday night, and Piano Concerti Nos. 1 & 5 “Emperor” Saturday, this robust program stretches across both evenings, calling for audiences to return after the first night to hear the dramatic conclusion. In sharing the stage with his older brother Tomasz, who will be conducting, Adam is sure to inspire and impress.
