Love Frozen Custard? Lubbock Is Getting This New Iconic Shop
We are all screaming for ice cream today!
Abbott's Frozen Custard is coming to West Texas and opening a location in Lubbock for all you ice cream and frozen custard lovers. For me, I am a frozen custard person myself so this is PERFECT!
Abbott's Frozen Custard was actually started back in 1902. According to their website, "a young and enthusiastic Arthur Abbott was traveling the Eastern Seaboard with the summer carnivals. He spent his days entertaining the crowds and his nights perfecting his secret recipe for a special frozen dessert. Little did he know the lasting impact his heavenly treat would make."
He opened his first stand in 1926 in Rochester, New York. In the summer of 1957, Thelma and Lenny Schreiber purchased Abbott’s Frozen Custard intent on carrying on the wonderful tradition Arthur had started.
Now there are locations all across New York and the eastern states. Currently, the closest location to us is in New Orleans so this is a big deal for us to get this spot.
They serve up frozen custards, sundaes, splits, milkshakes, floats, cakes, pies and so much more.
They have three signature flavors, vanilla, chocolate and chocolate almond. Along with local stands doing daily flavors. I am excited to try it all when it opens.
Abbott's Frozen Custard is opening up at 11112 Slide Road right next to the new United Supermarkets. They are shooting to open in Spring 2024.
You can find out more about them on their website.
Remember: if you know of any places opening soon or brand new to Lubbock that you want me to check out, reach out at: kelsee.pitman@townsquaremedia.com.
