Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Live Oak Animal Hospital (5214 98th Street) because they saved the life of my very sick kitten.

I found him as a stray with booger-ed over eyes, barely breathing, with very low body weight and a temperature. He was hospitalized for a few days and had around-the-clock care. Live Oak charged me the absolute bare minimum and provided the maximum amount of care.

(Side note: tons of people knew we were Texans from the Blue Bell and the Whataburger cup in the pictures. The husband was under the weather that day, so the coffee table was put to good use.)

Live Oak Animal Hospital isn't just dedicated to the health of my precious baby angel, they're dedicated to the health of all animals, their staff and you. By re-implementing curbside service, they're ensuring you don't catch a potentially deadly disease in a waiting room:

Due to the increased COVID cases in our community, we are now going back to CURBISDE SERVICE ONLY. Please continue to remain in your vehicle and call us at 806-794-9000 to check-in. A technician will come out to you and get a history and all services requested. The doctor will perform the exam and discuss any questions or concerns over the phone & a technician or receptionist will check you out over the phone and then bring your pet back to you.We thank you for your continued support and patience, as we navigate to keep our community and staff heathly [sic] for your pets medical needs.

As of the writing of this article, Lubbock has had over 14,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and nearly 140 deaths since mid-March, one of which was a dear friend of ours. I'm asking you to please mask-up, wash-up and, if you feel ill, get tested immediately. Your health and your life are very important.
