Let’s Celebrate! It’s National Buttermilk Biscuit Day May 14th
After a Saturday night out 2-stepping, you generally have to wind up at the all night breakfast place for biscuits and gravy! National Buttermilk Biscuit Day falls on a Sunday, the same day as Mother's Day, so this works out perfectly.
As far back as I can recall, stopping for biscuits and gravy after a night out, saved me from a hangover a few times at least! But aside from that, it's just plain old good eatin' and one of my favorite food groups!
I have really looked around, on a bit of a mission over the years, for the best recipes. I found one I really love and have been wondering about the perfect opportunity to share it with you, and this is it.
Junk Gypsies (on HGTV), from Round Top Texas, has been one of my favorite shows and they have a really great Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe that their Dad makes.
I have made this one many times in my cast-iron skillet and they're amazing!

National Buttermilk Biscuit Day is observed each year in the United States on May 14th according to the National Day Calendar, and on their site, they share a little biscuit history with us. Alexander P. Ashbourne patented the first biscuit cutter in 1875.
