Did you know acupuncture is known to help treat chronic diseases and pain? Well, I didn't.

I have been battling bad allergies and sinus pressure like it seems everyone is. I had been to the doctor twice with no luck. My mom said a bunch of her friends had good luck with acupuncture so I did some digging. Apparently, this is becoming super popular and really helping people.

So I went to a Chinese acupuncture business here in Lubbock and didn't really know what to expect.

According to The World Health Organization, they recognize at least 47 kinds of diseases that can be treated with acupuncture. It can help with things like headaches, migraines, dizziness, post-operation pain, and more.

While I haven't tried it for any of the other things I did go for my allergies. They stick a bunch of little needles on you and then use a machine to send pulses into your body. I hate needles with a passion and really didn't feel anything. The hardest part was sitting there for 25 minutes.

According to the National Library of Medicine, your body has 360 major acupoints and they run along 14 main channels. So that's where they know where to place the needles. This allows the blood and energy to follow to the area through the voltage.

As soon as we got done I could finally breathe again. There was no congestion. It lasted for a couple of days but I have really bad allergies so it is back again. I think if I went a few more times it would be really good for me but I haven't had the time to go back.
