Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network Pregame and Postgame Heard Today on Talk 103.9
Later today, the Kansas City Chiefs play the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. For the Chiefs, they are hosting their fourth consecutive AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, an NFL record.
While NFL rules prevent us from airing the Chiefs Radio Network broadcast, we are allowed to air a special pregame show from 12pm-1pm, and join the Chiefs Radio Network postgame show in progress, about 15 minutes after the game ends. Both the pregame, and postgame shows, will air on Talk 103.9/1340 in Lubbock.
Back in 2018's AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs lost to the Patriots 37-31 (OT). Then, in the 2019 AFC title game, the Chiefs beat the Titans 35-24, before then beating the 49ers to win Super Bowl LIV. In the 2020 AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs beat the Bills, before losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
Coming into today's game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes II is listed as healthy. In the Chiefs two previous playoff games he has thrown for a combined 782 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Travis Kelce remains Mahomes' top target with a combined 13 receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs two 2021 playoff wins.
Defensively, Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu is set to play on Sunday against the Bengals. He left last week's AFC Divisional Playoff game against Buffalo with a concussion. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Saturday reported that Mathieu is "good to go". Mathieu's absence negatively affected the Chiefs secondary against Buffalo as Josh Allen passed for 324 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Chiefs vs. Bengals is set for a 2pm kickoff on CBS, Chiefs Radio Network postgame coverage will start at approximately 5:20pm on Talk 103.9/1340.
