There was a time when new hitmaker Kane Brown had to fight to be accepted within the country music industry, but he says one country superstar in particular has always had his back.

"We are pretty close now," the "Heaven" singer tells ToC Nights' Sam Alex of his friendship with Jason Aldean. "I call him whenever I have a problem or whenever I am going though something and he’s always there. Two AM, whatever, he says, 'Just call me.' He's one of the good guys."

Brown says that his friendship with Aldean has especially helped him when he's dealing with bullies and naysayers on social media. "(I ask him about) single advice, (but also) If I was going through a rough time or if I read something from a hater," Brown, 24, shares. "Stuff like that."

And while the Georgia natives have much in common, there is one thing that they can’t seem to relate to with one another. "I don’t know if Aldean can fix a car," Brown says, laughing when asked if he and Aldean ever talk shop about cars. "He could probably pay for somebody for me to fix the car."

Next up for the two buddies is the CMT Awards, where they're both up for Video of the Year (Aldean up for his video "You Make It Easy" and Brown up alongside Lauren Alaina for "What Ifs").
