Judge Denies Motion for a Stay of Execution for Rosendo Rodriguez
Lawyers for a convicted Lubbock murderer are trying to get their client off death row.
Thirty-seven-year-old Rosendo Rodriguez is scheduled to be put to death in Huntsville on March 27th, 2018. Known as the 'Suitcase Killer,' Rodriguez was convicted of murdering Summer Baldwin in September 2005 and connected to the murder of Joanna Rogers.
KAMC News reports that earlier this month on March 6th, Judge Jim Bob Darnell denied a motion for a stay of execution. Rodriguez’s legal team continues to file motions in advance of the execution date.
