Josh Abbott Receives Distinguished Alumni Award From Texas Tech University

A big congratulations to Texas Country great Josh Abbott. The Lubbock-based country singer well-deserved Distinguished Alumni Award he was honored with this past weekend by the TTU Alumni Association.

Distinguished alumni received the award at a special dinner Friday, March 23rd. Also honored in 2018 were Texas Tech alumni David Gaschen, a Broadway vocal performer/vocal coach, and Gary Thomas, president and executive director for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

Previous notable award recipients include: Scott Pelley, Anchor and Managing Editor of the CBS Evening News, Correspondent for "60 Minutes"; and former Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball/WNBA player and current Director of Player Development Sheryl Swoopes,

Josh Abbott has accomplished a lot since his days at Texas Tech University, and as he shared in his tweet, this award meant a lot to the lifelong Red Raider.
