Josh Abbott, Kaitlin Butts & Grant Gilbert Give Impromptu Performance at Rained-Out JAB Fest

Talk about making the best of a bad situation.
Country stars Josh Abbott, Grant Gilbert and Kaitlin Butts didn't want the bad weather to get JAB Fest attendees down, so they did what they love to do: perform.
The trio surprised the hundreds who had gathered inside the Lonestar Pavilion following a weather delay at day 1 of JAB Fest 2018. Not surprising was the instant circle of people who surrounded the three country singers.
Josh Abbott and Grant Gilbert were strumming guitars, while Kaitlin Butts brought out her adorable dog. They performed a few songs for the fans who were braving out the storm, including a rousing version of the Tom Petty classic, "Free Fallin'," which the crowd sang along to.
Sadly, not long after they wrapped up the impromptu performance, day 1 of JAB Fest was called off due to the lightning in the area and heavy rain that left puddles of water leaking from the ceiling inside the Lonestar Event Center.
Day 2 of JAB Fest, on the other hand, went off without a hitch -- much to the delight of thousands of country music fans from all across West Texas.
