With so much summer traveling ahead, its time to walk through a few basics, because knowing how to do something and actually doing it can be two very different things.

Larry Williams of Williams Brake Tune and Tire were absolute lifesavers and I can't thank them enough for all their absolutely great guidance and advice. Larry walked me through steps and stumbles of changing a tire for the first time, but it was fun!

You can laugh at my mistakes and silly questions, but hopefully learn a little something that can help you out as you head out for summer road trips and vacations.

Before you head out on the open road, check out your vehicle and think about where all your emergency equipment is located. Every car/truck is different, and there are some features unique to your vehicle that you will want to make sure to check, Larry Williams explained.

On my car, there are very specific spots that flip open for the jack placement. Knowing how your vehicle is designed for little things like this is important. Also, you should know where the key to your tires might be and whether your spare has enough air in it. There are many bases that can be covered, and purchasing a simple emergency kit will give you that much more peace of mind on the road.

Hope that you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and safe journeys ahead!
