Bell County Sets Start and End Date For Emergency October Burn Ban
Even though it's October, the Bell County area is still very hot. Plus, the state of Texas is dealing with some bad drought conditions. Now, for a short while in the Bell County area, persons will not be able to burn items outdoors.
What Caused The Emergency Burn Ban In Bell County?
As reported by KWTX, the outlawing of burning items outside has been brought forth after a concerning number of grass fires have happened in Bell County. In total, per KWTX, "42 grass and wildland fire incidents" have taken place over the previous week. The Keetch-Byram Drought Index, which is used to determine the possibly for fire forests to happen for an area, does not show a good sign for Bell County.

KWTX reports that the KBDI has Bell County at 600 out of a possible 800 for possible forest fires. Which isn't promising for the area. So how long will the burn ban last?
What Is The Length Of The Burn Ban In Bell County?
The burn ban will begin tonight, October 7th, 2025, at 8 PM and end on October 14th, 2025. So those who live in the Bell County should avoid burning things outside while the ban is in effect. The ban itself is also subject to change.
The ban could be continued if the Bell County Commissioners Court deems it necessary to continue on the 14th. That discussion will take place during their meeting.
