A Joyful Reunion For Taylor And His Lost Dog Noodles
After a heartbreaking week of searching, Austin-based food blogger Taylor Hannon has finally been reunited with his beloved dog, Noodles.
The ordeal began the morning of July 25 when Hannon’s car was stolen with Noodles still inside. The incident occurred as he packed for a road trip. The car was located the following day about 20 miles east on State Highway 71, but Noodles was gone. What followed was a massive community-driven search effort that stretched across South and East Austin.
In an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, Hannon shared the good news: Noodles is back.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO SPENT TIME AND ENERGY AND RESOURCES AND SENT GOOD VIBES AND PRAYED,” he wrote. “NOODS IS BACK and he has no idea how loved he is.”
According to the post, Noodles is currently receiving fluids and undergoing X-rays, but is safely back in Hannon’s care. While the exact location of where Noodles was found has not been revealed, Hannon said he would share more details on Friday.
The search for Noodles quickly gained traction online, thanks in part to fellow content creators and locals who shared posts, made videos, and even helped hang posters. Hannon gave special thanks to several friends, including @hankdatank412, @thetraprs, and @marcoeatsthings, who supported him throughout the search.
Last Sunday, volunteers gathered near St. Elmo Elementary to search nearby neighborhoods, parks, and trails, hoping for a miracle. It appears that miracle has arrived.
For everyone who followed the story and rooted for Noodles, this reunion is the happy ending we all hoped for.
