This is The Most Haunted Prison in Texas

Let's face it, prison isn't a good place to be, and many things go on behind prison walls including death and possible torture.   This Texas prison was open for over 100 years and was the oldest in Texas.  It's only natural for it to be haunted.

Central Unit Prison in Sugar Land, Texas

This prison was also known as Imperial State Prison Farm and Central Prison Farm.  It was originally a plantation with different crops like corn and sugar cane. The state purchased the land in 1908.   The  Imperial State Prison Farm was first opened in April 1909, it was big enough for over 900 prisoners.  In 1930 the construction of the Central Unit Prison Farm began.

It's been said that in the 112 life span of this prison, many violent acts, riots, and suicides took place, and it is believed to be haunted.

Ghost Adventures visited Central Unit Prison in Sugar Land 6 months after it closed in August 2011.

Central Unit Prison was also the home to the "Old Sparky" chair.  This chair electrocuted over 360 people between 1924-1964.  After being tossed in a prison dump, it was saved and displayed at the Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville, Texas.  It is said that moans can be heard near the chair.

It's safe to assume that because of all the death and violence that did occur in the prison, it seems to be very haunted.  The short clip from the Ghost Adventures episode above found lots of proof of ghostly activity.  The Ghost Adventurers heard thumping noises in the shower room during the episode.
