Spring Forward Is Here: What Losing an Hour Really Does to You
It's so wildly debated not only in Texas but across the country. What is the point of Daylight Saving Time? Now, I understand that there are scientific arguments. Some say it actually improves health, and some say it helps regulate our bodies. So I understand there are arguments for it.
There are also plenty of arguments against it. Personally? I'm not the biggest fan of flip-flopping back and forth like that. Losing that daylight at night is not my favorite. I like it being light outside until 8-8:30 each night. When the sun goes down at 5:30, and it's pitch black by 6 pm? I felt like I worked away the entire day.

Time To Spring Forward
Regardless of how we feel about it, it's coming. It's the time when your drive into work will be a little darker, but you'll get so much more light when you get out of work. You'll be able to enjoy some outdoor activities, play sports longer (my favorite part), and enjoy those nice evenings out on the back patio.
The downside? Yeah, you lose an hour, but hey, you'll make it up, right? Just make sure you set that alarm for Sunday, March 8, or you might find yourself missing church or another event you had planned that morning. We're springing forward this Sunday, and there's nothing you can do about it.
How Long Does It Take to Adjust
You're going to find your sleep schedule and body messed up for a bit because of this move. You won't be as tired when it's time for bed, so you may go to bed a bit later than usual, but still have to get up at your normal time. It's ok, that's what caffeine is for.
Most people adjust to springing forward after 3 to 7 days. That's not to say it can't last longer, depending on your body. You could find yourself a bit out of rhythm for a couple of weeks, but I promise, it'll get easier and better. This change is usually considered to be a bit harder to get used to, and you may experience jet-lag symptoms as your body adjusts. So don't panic, you're ok.
