Tax Free Weekend at the South Plains Mall! Get Ready to Save for Back-to-School

Back-to-school season is in full swing here in Lubbock, and families can use all the help they can get. New shoes, extra socks, and name-brand apparel sure can nickel and dime you if you aren't careful.

This is why the South Plains Mall is stepping in to offer some assistance for back-to-school shoppers.

Tax-Free Weekend in Lubbock

The annual three-day sales tax holiday is coming up on Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9. This is when retailers won't charge sales tax on certain clothes and shoes that have price tags under $100.

Doing the math, this saves back-to-school shoppers roughly eight cents on the dollar. It doesn't sound like much, but when the receipt grows taller than your child, then you'll appreciate the savings along the way.

On top of it all, many retailers at the South Plains Mall will offer additional sales and promotions starting this weekend.
